Why teams use RapidRCA

Root cause analysis should take minutes to start and end in actions that actually happen.

Faster investigations

Go from a short description or a photo of your notes to a structured analysis in minutes. No blank page, no formatting.

One method every time

The ROOTS™ method keeps every investigation consistent, whoever runs it and on whatever shift.

Goes deeper than "human error"

RapidRCA looks past the individual to the procedure, design or system cause that allowed the problem.

Actions with owners

Every action gets an owner and a due date you can edit, so findings turn into work that gets done.

No training needed

Plain language and guided questions, so a technician can use it as easily as an engineer.

A report you can share

Print to PDF or open in Word, with the ROOTS™ sections clearly laid out.

Instead of spreadsheets and slide decks

One guided flow replaces copying between files, reformatting and chasing the latest version.

Instead of whiteboards

The thinking from the room is captured in a report, not photographed and forgotten.

Instead of a blank chatbot

A structured method, targeted questions and an editable report with owners and dates.

The ROOTS™ method

Five steps from problem to lasting fix. Every RapidRCA report follows them, so nothing stops at a report in a drawer.

  1. Recognise the problem

What happened, where, when and what it cost.

  2. Observe the facts

Evidence, data and photos, including handwritten notes.

  3. Obtain the root cause

5 Whys, fishbone or both, going past "human error" to the real cause.

  4. Tackle the root cause

Actions, each with an owner and a due date.

  5. Sustain the fix

Track every action to closure and check the problem never returns.

Frequently asked questions

What is root cause analysis (RCA)?

RCA is a structured way to find out why something went wrong, so you can fix the cause and not just the symptom. Common methods include 5 Whys and the fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram.

What is the ROOTS™ method?

ROOTS stands for Recognise the problem, Observe the facts, Obtain the root cause, Tackle the root cause and Sustain the fix. It turns an investigation into five clear steps that end in owned actions.

Does RapidRCA use 5 Whys or fishbone?

Either, or both. Choose "Ask AI" and RapidRCA picks the method that suits your problem, or select 5 Whys, Fishbone or Both yourself. Everything can be edited afterwards.

How accurate are the results?

RapidRCA helps you structure an investigation quickly. The results depend on the information you provide, so, as with any analysis, we recommend that your team reviews and approves each report before acting on it. Every report lists the points to confirm on site.

What can I upload?

A photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP) of handwritten notes, a whiteboard, a job card, a form or the failed part. It is read alongside your description as initial information.

How is my information handled?

We take data protection seriously. The information you provide is used to deliver the service and is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. To produce your report, what you submit is processed by trusted service providers, including an AI provider, and we do not use your content to train AI models. Reports are not stored in your account yet, so print or download them when you are finished. You can contact us at any time to ask about, correct or delete your data.

Is RapidRCA free, and do I need an account?

RapidRCA is free to use at the moment, and you will need a free account, which takes about a minute. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you well in advance, and you will only be charged if you choose to subscribe. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
